This is one of Prince Edward Island's best kept secrets. Cumberland Cove Seaside Campground is located on the banks of the Northumberland Straight just 10 minutes from the Confederation Bridge. This quiet little (25 site) campground is exactly what you need after a long day of traveling or simply exploring our beautiful, friendly Island.

Imagine sitting in a lawn chair gazing out over the vast expanse of the Northumberland Straight where a lobster boat moves about from trap to trap or a Cruise Ship presents itself for a short period of time as it makes its way to or from the Charlottetown Harbour. High above you, an Eagle circles effortlessly on the warm thermals in its never ending search for food.

A great photo opportunity is when the setting sun reaches the perfect angle and ignites the banks on the east side of the cove into a few incredible glowing shades of Orange and Red. Unfortunately, this only lasts for a few minutes, so be ready!

Feel the evening breeze coming off the salt water as you sit by your campfire. Before you, darkening skies reveal a myriad of stars while the moonlight dances atop the waves. When you decide to retire for the night, listen to the waves as they caress the shoreline, their soothing sound will have you fast asleep in no time...

While having your breakfast the morning sunlight shimmers over the cove. Observe the Great Blue Herons and Seagulls as they seek out their next meal, meanwhile, Lesser Yellowlegs and other birds feed along the shoreline. Have your binoculars handy as several other species of waterfowl frequently make an appearance.

Watch the entire Cove empty and fill with the tides. This is truly amazing. As the tide goes out you can go beachcombing, clam digging or just enjoy a great leisurely walk. See if you can find a Sand Dollar. Don’t worry; you will have plenty of time to return before the water reaches the bank again. (there are approximately 13 hours between High tides)

Centrally located, whether you drive Easterly toward our Capital city of Charlottetown, West to the second largest city of Summerside or North to Cavendish (home of Anne of Green Gables and Cavendish Beach) you can be there in just over 30 minutes.
